Community

Tawa feels strongly that business has an obligation to support and invest in the community - our investment takes the form of charitable donations, staff time and skills.

Throughout the year we like to participate in fun events to raise money for charity, such as Jeans for Genes day, Wear Pink day for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Comic Relief, Children in Need, The Poppy Appeal and Abseiling for the Bobby Moore Cancer Appeal.

As individuals, a number of our employees also support the community in varioius ways and as an organisation we support our employees through time off, flexibility, funding and sponsoring the endeavours of those who take part in sponsored walks and runs.

Some of our employees are involved in working for homeless charities, sitting on appeal committees and school boards and one has recently undertaken a part-time voluntary role as a Magistrate.

Environmental Initiatives

Tawa are supporting an initiative sponsored by the BBC and Oxford University to conduct the world's most ambitious climate modelling experiment utilising spare capacity on some 120,000 computers worldwide. This experiment uses a computer model to try and predict future weather patterns.

Recycling Programmes

Together with other tenants in The London Underwriting Centre, we contribute all used toner cartridges to a recycling scheme, raising almost £1,000 for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital during the past year.
